A wet bath, as I understand it, is a bathroom where the entire room is used as a shower stall. I have seen this on sailboats where space is at a premium. I have seen it on low-end stick & staples RVs where the bath is 24” x 24” but I have never seen it in a high-end coach. Why not?

It seem like a great idea to me. Am I missing something? The toilet is waterproof. If you didn’t want to make the vanity cabinets waterproof you could put a shower curtain over them when using the shower. I know several people who use the shower stall for storage because it is too small for practical use. A 3’x6’ wet bath would be spacious. How about a side bath; the vanity goes on one end with the toilet on the other end; top it off with a pocket door in the middle. To save reaching over the toilet the shower wand could be on the vanity end on the outside wall. The floor can be stainless or tile.

Am I all wet?

whatever floats your boat..!!...I think there is some kind of mental block, where most people don't want to sit or stradle the commode while they take a shower

Just my opinion, but is seems that if I went to use the stool and the floor was a bit wet, my shoes might get a bit of water on the bottom and then I'd track it somewhere else in the coach. The Misses wouldn't like that at all.

Othewise, if it fits your design, I'd say go for it.

Good Luck.

Do you have a small bus? 18 sq.ft. is not much space for an entire bathroom. As the two above have said, there are better ways. And, I would not even think of putting anything in that space if it is not impervious to water. If that is how u have to go, my 1st class A, a Champion 22' (remember those ugly-ass things from the early 70's) had that arrangement in 15 sq.ft. I hated it, but the Mtr.Home would climb trees!

if my floor plan stays the same, i'll have the "wet bath".... i like the idea of being easy to clean...just take the shower wand and a brush, pinesol and clean it all... i'm planning on using ceramic 2" tile for the floor and tile up about 2 feet on the walls....above that gets the fiberglass sheets available from home depot or lowes....i've been trying to make a shower pan out of 1" plywood, seal it with fiberglass for waterproofing.... then cover that with the ceramic tile for appearance... the shower would be about 1" lower, and, sloped for a drain...i walk around barefoot in the motorhome anyway, so a bath mat will take any moisture... right now, my planned bathroom measures 42" wide x 7 feet long.... and its a side aisle design... with commode, shower, and vanity/sink in 1 room

I am living sort of full time in a small RV, with the pot in the middle of the shower. This is the second one we have owned, and we just love it. I do believe it is mostly a mental block that people simply reject such an arrangements.
And for David, a small throw rug outside the door keeps the missus happy.

Well, Jack there really is no practical reaqson you can't do it, but as for "but I have never seen it in a high-end coach. Why not?"

Now there's a silly question... Imagine "Thurston" taking a shower on a cold day and several minutes later "Lovie" sits down to tinkle... But her delicate bottom contacts a cold wet seat!

The horrors! As ol' George Herbert Walker Bush used to say "Ain't gonna happen!"

As for the 3x6 bathroom: I have seen private toilets on high end coaches that include a vanity on the end opposite the toilet. When I step in and shut the door there is more room than in most showers.

Think 2’ for the toilet’ 2’ for floor area; and 2’ for vanity = 6’x3’ wide. Maybe some of those dimensions would be up to 3’. If you didn’t want to waterproof the front of linen cabinets over the toilet they could be accessed from the hall; build the cabinets but put the doors out in the hall. Consider sloping the floor toward the outside wall of the bus rather than putting the drain in the middle of the floor; the floor wouldn’t feel so uneven under your feet and it would be easier to squeegee the water into the drain.

If you are still upset about the toilet in the shower, put a curtain across the toilet area. Heck, put a shower door that folds flat against the outside wall across toilet area. You still get dual use of the floor area in front of the vanity.

I am leery of keeping mold etc out of ceramic tile. I might look into the cost of solid surface counter tops. Concrete (as in concrete counter tops) might be a good choice but I do not have any experience with concrete counter tops.

Thanks for the comments & input

I have a similar system on my boat, and it works just fine.

The entire bath is in/on a 32 sq shower pan from HD.
The toilet (marine head) is pumped , but a gravity RV unit would work as well, and still be eZ to clean under.

The toilet is raised from the shower floor the hight of the shower stall lip by a painted 2X6 that across. , with the toilet in a corner.
On a boat the shower drain is into the bilge or into a tank containing a pump.

A Senicruser corner SS sink is in one corner with a marime telephonr style shower and H/C controlls.

Same faucet for hand basin or shower.

Overhead an aluminum frame holds the shower curtan (2 of them for 360 coverage) .

Tiny but 32 sq is large enough for non therapy , get clean showers.
