Hello everyone. I was here as a regular some time ago Known as Cory and over time life just took over my priorities. I have had a GMC RTSII for some time. The project started out well, seats stripped, windows reconfigured, Boat hatches installed for skylights and they open, two airs, solar panels. I had metal supports for the under storage and modular wall supports. The wiring for lights and power is run and I built custom power boxes for the lights which switch land power / battery automatically. The switchs are custom and lighted when on land power. I made electrical drawings on computer and some sketches of what was to be. I have a lot of the parts for the interior waiting for a place to be installed including the water tanks, sinks, fixtures, pumps. I stored the bus in South East Wisconsin (Kenosha/Racine area) on a farm some distance from my home since I don't have room at the house nor would the city allow it. And as we all have our problems, I had my share. The job changed from an 8 hour day to a 12 hour day, Job locations changed from down the road to 55 miles away and later 100 miles away. Yes, there was a commute of 1.5 hours ONE WAY and that doubled when traffic was bad and mixed in that I had eye surgery which turned out so so. ( flutter wave of the hand ). My sight certainly isn't what it used to be and really tests my abilities. Interest has wained a bit but now the farm is being rented out by the owners and the rentor may purchase the farm and is not interested in keeping the bus on site. When a purchase may occur is not known, it could be next Fall or the year after that. I am struggling with what to do and as time runs on I am getting older. I have decided the bus is open for offers since if I have to move it, its most likely destination would be the scrappers, a big loss for parts as well as a motorhome project. If anyone has interest or knows anyone that might be interested I'd enjoy talking about it. Larry_C |

Hey RC, yes I remember you also... I was rather outspoken then as CORY DANE, and really believe in the bus project. Yes, life has its struggles and I knew when I got into it that the bus conversion certainly would not be an easy one. I picked the RTSII because it was a good looking sleek unit and I could make the under floor storage. Who knew that the company I worked for would be taken over and the location of work would change, TWICE. A rather brutal management from Pennsylvania at that. With downsizing, time restraints and internal aggrivations, the Bus Conversion project kept getting forced back behind everything else. On top of that my mentor who was the knowlege behind the bus conv passed away. That was a great loss in many ways. Gee I remember suggesting the "Places We've Been" section and IAN jumped right on it... it looks good now days. I have so many great ideas but I am aggravated with the poor eye site now. Its great to read about all these on going projects again and all the ideas and I will be happy to add mine if anyone cares to hear. My RTSII will come already wire run, electrical schematics and my last drawing for the layout. you won't believe how long it took to come up with that final floor plan, or if you are like me, you know all too well how long a good layout takes to develop. You all take care and I'll be popping in now and then. slc |
