Gurus: I have an Onan Marquis 7000 Generator. A couple of weeks ago, we used the bus, and it operated fine. Yesterday, took her on another little short trip, and the genny cranks and runs fine, but is not putting out any power. Checked all the breakers, etc, you know the normal stuff you would check. Any suggestions on where to start looking for the problem? |

Onan's are bad about the reverse current relay going bad or if you lose the shunt field ground it will stop producing power good luck |

Onans will not stay running if they are not making A/C power. They will run until you let go of the start switch. If it continues to run, I would look at a breaker or some issue downstream of the genny. |

....AND....Onan breakers may indeed need to be, well,..."replaced"......my experience. Don't know why. FWIW RCB |

Jim Bob that is not true of ALL onans. The older ones do in fact need to see output voltage to keep running, but the newer fully electronic controlled units will run with no output voltage. I have repaired a few that ran but put out no power so I know this to be true from experience. |

Derrick, sorry about that. I obviously over reached my knowledge base. I never get to work on NEW stuff. |

Over reaching my knowledge base is something I am found to be guilty of quite often. LOL. |
