I have a 4104 conversion that has always been a little hard to start, but runs fine when started. It also has a very slight battery drain so I have to keep an eye on the levels and charge it frequently. Well, I have been away for eight weeks so I figured I'll have to buy new batteries ,prime the fuel system and use starting fluid to get it started. When I visited my bus the battery voltage was 12.5 and the engine fired on first try. First time thats happened since I have owned this bus. Like some wine old detroits improve with age and inattention

Bob. After owning my for 18years 04 I have found out.
1) The battery drains if I leave it connected ( I dont ) because the door switches keep the 12v lights on etc.
2) Mine used to take 20 turns before it would fire, It was always easer to start if I plugged in the block heater. A month ago I changed out all the fuel hose ( the guy who made the lines up was able to reuse most of the fittings to save $ )
NOW IT START ON SECOND TURN, NO BLOCK HEATER.
