Sounds like maybe your air compressor or alternator is cutting in. See if it's synched to the air guage. Noticed similar symptoms when turning on the air conditioner. Compressor clutch engages, and fans turn on which kicks up the alternator output. Pulls the engine down. |

They are $95 an hour but DD has a repair shop here, by UCSD in the golden triangle. 858-587-8524 Might be good for one of those difficult problems. |

I just had a similar problem that everyone blamed on fuel filters also. I would loose power slowly after startup, will I could barely manage 25 mph. Turns out my fast idle solenoid was defective causing a massive air leak in the air throttle. I found it by putting a brick on the throttle pedal and going to the back to check the throttle lever travel, without the engine running. Air was leaking all over the place. Several hoses were loose and leaking and the TR-3 inversion valve was leaking out the control port. Basically I did not have enough air pressure to push the fuel control level all the way open when I needed it. Perhaps you have a loose airline someplace? |

I think the key here is the boost drop. Otherwise the boost should remain steady or actually go up when the engine is further loaded. Jimm probably hit the right fix. Do you have rubber fuel lines? How old are they? Over time the rubber gets soaked in diesel fuel... ...and the insides swell up like clogged heart arteries. Been told the lines can LOOK BRAND NEW on the outside, but be old and clogged... ...on the insides. Can be either the feed OR the return line. The fix is to replace them with new. Another possibility is again junk in the... ...bottom of the tank like leaves or dead insects, mine, rats, cats, etc., floppping up and down clogging the works. Or....it could be something more major like the fuel pump acting up or something wrong with the fuel lines on/near the mill. Do you have an amp or voltage gage? What does the gage do when the symptoms occur? Do you have an electric fuel pump in the system? Good luck. |

does your boost gauge take pressure from between turbo and blower or is it plumbed to the air box past the blower? Guy 4905 |
