My husband, John and I have a 1960 4104 with a bad front end that makes the steering wheel shake. We have the old split rims so knowbody wants to balance them for us. He put new shocks on and that seemed to help alittle but on a long drive the shaking wears you out. We've seen the add for Balance Masters and wanted to know if anybody has tried them and if they work. I'm not even sure they will fit an 04. Our tire size is 11-20 with 10 lug holes. Thanks in advance..Sherry |

First step is getting rid of the old rims. If not for balance, then for safety. These are ancient technology that have seen their day. The tire sizes should be 12R22.5 on a bus. This will give you a much better ride and probably smooth out the shimmy. Jim |

I'd suggest you go ahead and step up to 22.5 tires and wheels....everybody has their own way of doing things,I would go to a truck salvage ,should be able to get a 22.5 wheel with a 'fair' used tire on it for anywhere between 100.00 & 150.00 |

Don't know where you are, but I have a set of 22.5 ten hole rims here in Seattle. You are welcome to them. Michael |

THINKING OUTSIDE YOUR CURRENT "BOX" I'd consider looking up a Flx 870 that's being salvaged. You can switch out the front spindle assy with brakes. Increases the front steer angle to 45 deg and greatly increases the braking power of the bus. Don't forget the rear brake drum assys as well. This is such an improvement it should be done regardless of the condition of your current front axle. Onward and Upward Marc Bourget |

There is a man on the MAK board giving away 4, 22.5, hub piloted rims. He lives in Point Pleasant WV. I have 2 more I'll give you if you live somewhere around the midwest. I live in OH about 55 mi. from the other man. Ed Jewett |

Hi Sherry, What part of south Georgia are y'all from. I was raised up in middle Georgia (Eatonton). In 1985 I moved up to Tallulah Falls. I sing with a bluegrass gospel group and our first coach was an "04". We're in the process of trying to sell it since we bought a "84 MC-9" a couple of months ago. If you or John would like to e-mail me off the board, my e-mail address is glennvin @ alltel.net Glenn PD4104-4095 and MCI-9 |

sherry, you can buy a brand new steele bud wheel for around 75 bucks.as for wheel balancers don't waste your money on wheel balancers. they work fine but half a coffee can full of rv antifreeze does the same thing. i truck for a living and i buy lots of tires. toyo makes a good all position tire "m 127" , works great for steer tire 14 ply good luck dave |

I will bet its your tie rod ends. Luke has the replacement tie rod and both tie rod ends for practically what you would pay for one tie rod from some sources, Then if you need to replace a tie rod you have the new upgrated low cost. John |
