My manual shows four batteries for my 1984 Prevost. I have only two and I need to replace one. How many batteries are needed? (This does not include the Inverter or Generator batteries).
Thanks - Bill

I had two 8Ds for engine start in my 82 Prevost. I have replaced them with 2 group 91s and used the 8Ds I freed up as more house batteries. The bus always starts, but I live in Florida and if I run into cold weather I ALWAYS preheat with an Espar diesel furnace that runs from the house batteries or from the a 120 volt engine heater. So all the engine batteries have to do is turn over a warm engine about one turn. If you are using group 91 truck batteries (or group 27 car batteries) you may need four in the winter if you do not preheat. My batteries are in the engine compartment so preheating the engine warms them too.

Thanks for the help. I have replaced both batteries with 8Ds (Interstate for $120 each) because I am in a cooler climate. Original batteries must be smaller because there is no room for more batteries.

Thanks - Bill
