Just talked to a friend who just got back from the Oshkosh Wis. airshow. She enjoyed it, but was still sore from the $expense$ involved.

Did anyone do it this year? Was it enjoyable? Would you do it again? How $expensive was it? It is on our "must do list". Thanks in advance.

The expense of Oshkosh can appear to be high, but for what you get it's not bad. You need to be a member of EAA to get a decent deal ($40 a year including the magazine "Sport Aviation"). Member entry for the week (Tuesday thru Monday) was $95 and the spouse was $45. This include entry into the EAA Museum, a very class act. Dry camping was about $20 a day but you have to pay for the week up front and you get a refund for any days you do not use (three day minimum) when you leave. There are shower houses, porta-johns, water available and a nice large dumping station. There is a $2-3 honor system box for the dumping.
Would I go again? Well this was my 24th consecutive year attending but I am an avid airplane homebuilder (working on my fourth plane). For anyone interested in aviation it is a must see. You will never see that many historic, homebuilt and other unusual airplanes in one place.
