"Is there something wrong with MCI's airbags?? Why go anyplace else?" MCI stuff is fine , LUKE'S air bags are fine, The difference is LUKE is a busnut. MCI prefers pro customers to fax a P.O. complete with current parts #. Luke spends many hours a day , FREE , on the phone talking individuals thru troubble shooting , and has many times spent time talking truck stops thru the bus repairs that they have no experience with. Since the pricing is with in a couple of cents , and LUKE has spent 20+ years accumulating all the big & small "stuff" to keep our beauties alive , it makes sense to talk to , and ORDER from someome who is so extrimly helpfull to our hobby. MCI has high moving parts for current coaches, LUKE has what we as operators of older coaches dream of , the early SMALL STUFF too. LUKE has the parts numbers , and the parts! Works for me, FAST FRED |

Yeah Fred, but the 102A coaches are quite modern and parts are not hard to find. I wouldn't bother Luke for this, but rather, rely on him for the hard to find parts he can make a buck on. There are only so many hours in a day and I wouldn't want to waste his time if I didn't need to. If he spends a lot of time running down parts that are readily available from MCI, that leaves less time to be available when he is really needed. Jim |

So why not give him some of the easy stuff to make some quick bucks on? Richard |

First of all, if you want to send a little something Luke's way for all the great help he has provided us bus nuts over the years, by all means! Secondly MCI does not make airbags, Firestone and Goodyear do, if you want to save a penny or two try and contact the manufacturer or one of their dealers and purchase the bags directly, or if you aren't in a hurry, do as I did and save a truck load, get them from that e-place. Calling for the vast assortment of parts at US Coach keeps the parts desk & guy busy, not LUKE> The really hard stuff , only LUKE , knows whats stuck in boxes of NOS goodies he has in inventory. AS Luke is a busnut , he only stocks the factory correct replacement . Yes ,,there ARE 2 mfg of air bags , did you want what the orig coach design called for , or what may fit according to a chart from a high volume stock parts house? Do it your way, FAST FRED |

Considering that I have been involved in dealing with parts counter people for over 25 years, I do agree, you have to be careful that the part they order is the part you want. However, bringing in a sample of the part is usually helpful. Not only can the counter man eyeball the part, he may glean part numbers or stamped manufacturing numbers that identify the exact air bag for the application. Considering the hundreds of dollars I saved on a complete set of 8 airbags for my coach, having to do a little research to insure they were the RIGHT bags was (literally) money in the bank! Brian |
