Fired up the bus to move it into the barn so I can finally raise the roof. The engine is a 6V92TA in an Eagle 20. It starts fine but quits after a couple minutes. When I started it the first time (in about 9 months) the fast idle worked until engine quit. From that point on , when it started the fast idle didn't kick on.
Again, the engine starts easily, but doesn't stay running.
Any advise would be appreciated.
Thanks, Wayne

I agree has to be fuel. If it's been sitting for a long time change the fuel filters. They could be the problem, and the cheapest place to start.

If it starts (no air pressure) and quits as the pressure begins to build, it sounds like your stop system is shutting the rack off as it gets enough air to activate. Make sure that the run/stop switches are "on" at both the front & rear panels. (If equipped with a rear switch panel).

The alarmstat auto-shutdown system.

ine was doing the same thing.

Mine kept showing low oil pressure indications, but I had plenty of pressure.

I replaced the wiring from the rear junction box to the oil pressure sender and haven't had a problem since.

The model 20 has a DDEC II. The DDEC II has a idle limit timer and will only allow the engine to idle for a lenght of time set in the DDEC. I have found with mine that even with the fast idle not working that when I turn the idle switch on the engine will continue to run. There are other items that will keep the engine from going into fast idle when the switch is turned on, but I haven't found them all.
