I too, am curious about the ceramic additive paint for heat shield. I talked to my brother who is in FL, he applied the ready mix stuff to his 4905 and said it helped a lot, but no specific test.
I purchased some of the ceramic additive to mix with my Kool Seal. Enough to do a gallon was $10.00. I plan on doing a test. I am going to paint a large piece of metal roofing (steel) with one half just Kool Seal and the other with the ceramic additive. I have an infrared thermometer to check the results. If not too complicated I would try to do some other things, if you have an idea of what would be a better test. I have already invested some money in this project, but will abandon it if the results aren't promising.
This stuff is not the name brand stuff so it may all be in vain unless compared to the name brand stuff.
At $10.00 plus shippping per gal. if it works good it would be great.
Shipping on it to my house was $9.00 which is a rip-off, but I wanted to try it.
It might chage my plans for the insulation thickness going into my coach.

Suggestions are welcome.

I saw a similar experiment once in a Jr. High School science project. I believe the kids used 3 pound coffee cans with the plastic lids and painted each one a different color all over, including the lid. Each was filled with an equal amount of water, and they were allowed to sit in the sun with equal exposure. Temperature of each was measured and recorded at intervals over a day's time. Results, of course showed the darker the paint, the warmer the contents.

You might try something similar, and I'm sure a lot of us would like the see the results.

Just my two cents worth, but,
I tried Kool Seal, didn't put it on the right way and humidity let it run off over night. It did drop the temp in the bus some. Now the bus had Zebra Stripes. After a year the stuff was so grey that it was like it wasn't even there. I just got done cleaning that crap off of there.
Over the past week I've been putting on a coating of Bone White Interior/Exterior Latex Paint. Hmmm, wonder of wonders, this stuff has kept the temp in the bus 10° below the outside temp and lest you scoff, with the Kool Seal, I was only able to obtain a difference of 3° difference.
I used this paint on my old look TDH3610 and it made it bearable inside even without shade. Now I have an 11K BTU window air stuck in a hole in the rear roof of my PD4103 and it is keeping the whole inside under 80°(at the front, with no insulation) with outside temps being around 88°. some places in the bus are down around 75° but at the galley, in the middle the temp is 78°.
Dammee, this is wonderful!, The heck with spendy roof airs, this is the way to go!
Good Luck!
