I have at times not been able to get power to start the engine. I have ample power from the batteries. My coach uses the key with 2 wires and then a button with two wires. When I would turn the key on, I got the bell and then hit the button and the engine always fires right up. However yesterday, Got the bell ringing and then hit the button and nothing happened. So tried moving the gear selector back and forth. Still nothing. So out with the voltage checker and sure enough, has power on the button with the key on. BUT being very shaky, I accidently shorted the hot wire on the metal dash and now have no power to the button. However still have the key with bells working. Now the first question. So do these Eagle Model 01's have a fuse somewhere as I can't seem to find it. And once I have power back to the button. Where do I go to find the problem with it not starting. When I push the button, I do not get even a drop in voltage, so nothing is happening. Help me get back on the road. I am having travel withdrawls. Thank You Bobby |

Try tapping the starter motor. That may work if the armature has a bad spot on it. Next REMOVE and clean the battery to starter cables. You may "see" 12V there but if there is corrosion you wont get enough amps. Not sure about the "button" somethin's burnt somewhere!! Dean |

I don't think that's correct....o.k. you have blown a fuse in your ' shorting"or kicked a relay...under the drivers elbow ,outside ,there is a panel with all kinds of elec. stuff...you really need a wireing diagram....the 'first' part of the question....my Eagle was doing the same thing ...key on,got low air buzzer...& nothing when I pushed the start....mine had the rocker switch start button...replaced that...with a new start button & everything is wonderful... |

I have an 05...got my book down, not real good with reading diagrams, but it looks like inside, under drivers left elbow, that panel needs to be taken off & there is a fuse, follow those wires down from the start button... |

The start circuit on my '76 Prevost/8V71 died once, stranding us at a rest stop. No power to the solenoid. After an hour of checking everything I could think of (I'm no mechanic) and a lot of head scratching, I finally found the culprit. On the fuel pump outlet line is a pressure switch which cuts out the starter circuit when there is fuel pressure. I disconnected the wire on the sensor, grounded it on the engine block and voila! Back in business. Wouldn't have found it except I remembered I'd heard there was a sensor which disallowed activating the starter when the engine was running. |

I had the same problem & fix on my 4905. Had corroded butt splice 2" from the switch. It's REALLY frustrating to run this one down. I too found the problem by dimly remebering a thread about the fuel pressure switch. Thank God (and Ian) for this board!!! |
