Does anyone have any input on the conversion of the toilet/bathroom in a regular transit coach. The current water hook-up's look similiar to hydraulic couplers and I am assuming these were used for a speedy/efficient way for the transit companies to fill the holding tank. My coach has two hook-up's, a male end and a female end. I have not gone into any depth on how this all works yet, nor have I removed the fittings to see if I can convert them to regular garden hose fittings. I am wandering if anyone has dealt with anything of this nature, and also wandering if the fresh water holding tank is somewhere up in the back cap area. If this is the case, maybe "high pressure" is needed to fill the tank which in turn is why they have the hydraulic type fittings. Thanks in advance. |

don't have an exact idea about prevost...my Eagle had something that 'sounds' familiar...it was more of a latrine than anything...very unsatisfatory set-up....(removed & destroyed)..my fresh water holding tank, for washing hands,is still in place and have not removed ,because it 'might' do for 'misters' for the radiator,(but) thermostat never has gotten over 182...so,it's probably going to be removed also... |

In my MC-8 the fresh water tank was located on a space inside the passenger compartment in the back cap area over the radiator blowers, behind the mirror on the rear wall of the bathroom. The tank was small. This water supply was okay for washing hands, but not considerd safe for drinking. I would think that converting the input connection to a garden hose fitting should be fairly easy. I'm not sure I would ever want to use the tank for drinking water. FWIW Dave Dulmage |

I drive Prevost with 2 toilet set ups. In One toilet situation the water is in the toilet and an external hose input like yours goes direct into the tiolet to clean and then refill for the recycle flushing system. The second is in an H model which has a separate holding tank and the toilet flushing recycles from there. Yours probably shots into the toilet and is used to fill and/or clean. We never carry water for hand washing. Hand washing is done by moist towelettes or a wall dispensor of magic cleaning solution. Dave in Duluth |

When I had my MC-8, it had the rear washroom and I toyed with the idea of somehow keeping it in place. It was more of a "Porta Potty" tank with a chute, rather than a more-desirable tank and RV toilet with a flapper. Before I horse-traded it, I was convinced to remove the washroom and place a conventional RV pooper amidships over one of the back bays. ChuckMC9 had removed his washroom, but was considering ways to keep a back bathroom last I saw his rig. Maybe he can chime in some of his thoughts on the matter. FBB |
