I have watched this board for a few years and have noticed over time that several folks ask questions related to fishbowls. I assume they have a GMC fishbowl and wonder if we could start sharing information together. For example, I have potential access to several pallets of fishbowl parts and would like to have others involved in making sure we get the parts. So, if you are interested in starting a discussion board or a group specific to fishbowls/newlooks please let me know. |

Good grief, Grant, count me in. I'm looking for parts as we speak. I've even got some Web space on a few domains we could use to set up a BBS, if needed. I'll email you. Brian Brown Longmont, CO USA '68 T8H-5305-021 Bus Site |

RJ, thanks for the site info. I was aware of the yahoo group site, however it seems like most of the members signed in over 2 or 3 years ago and it is almost inactive as a group. I am hoping to reignite the group and have something set up outside of yahoo! Brian, I will keep your email on file and give this 30 days to see what kind of response we get. Worse case scenario is that you and I speak. BTW, (got that from my kids) what kinds of parts are you looking for? Perhaps I can help. Thanks both of you! Grant |

Grant, Perhaps you might wish to just continue to use this venue for your "group" rather than limit your group to just a few people possibly missing important info that is common amongst all buses that continues to appear and be archived here. A thought on how to delineate your particular info from other messages is to start your Topic line with the word "Fishbowl"; eg. "Fishbowl - how do I adjust the widget". Many other messages specific to other bus makes and models start that way here, already. As well, if you do this, then when trying to pull info from the Archives, your Keyword Search need only contain "Fishbowl" and all entries pertaining to your bus will show up as clickable links to the messages. I'm sure I agreed with Fast Fred when he said that over 90% of everything you do to your conversion is common to every conversion, so why not continue to share that info rather than leave a venue that can work fine for your needs. Your specific Fishbowl information is important to BNO viewers, too. And let's face it, we do have a pretty big viewership, not to mention that your messages get emailed automatically to 567 people. Stay. Share. :-) Regards, Ian Giffin www.busnut.com |

Amen, I have a similar problem with my Bluebird, there's really no dedicated board for Bluebird Converters, however, most of the stuff I need to know can be found here. Gary |

I agree, I will continue my addiction to this board as I have learned so much. I was only suggesting that conversations particular to newlooks not take up space on this BBS. I will keep the emails of those wishing to discuss issues related to the fishbowl and do exactly as you suggest with the archive function. Thanks Grant |

Grant: It sounds like Ian’s inviting us to clog up his BBS with our Fishie-specific conversion posts, so I think we should take him up on it. Other Fishie-converters in the future will certainly appreciate the archives relating to their conversions. Sounds good to me! Ian: Well stated. What you said make perfect sense. Thanks for the invite! And I’d just as soon stay here… the (IMHO) best bus-conversion site on the Net. I’m not a big fan of the Yahoo groups because of the ads, the lack of decent threading, and goofy way attachments are handled. But…it’s free, so “’ya get what ‘ya pay for.” And that other bus conversion site has just gotten too nasty lately. No archives there, or decent search functions, either. BNO’s ‘da best! Which begs the question: how is BNO supported? Other than buying a photo ad (not that I’m selling AND, not that I’d get any takers with my rig at the moment grin), how can one contribute to the site? Thanks, FBB |

Good to see a few more active conversions of Fishbowls. I look forward to seeing more "Fishbowl" posts as I stumble through my conversion. Mike. 1982 5307. |

Hey Mike: I sent you an email yesterday about sharing ideas and parts sources via BNO. Don't know if you got it. Nice site you have going there! We should chat sometime. Thanks, Brian Brown '68 T8H-5305 |

FBB and all, Thank you for your continued support of BNO and for your very kind words. FBB, you asked how this site is supported financially. If you visit our home page, there's a sponsor bar running down the right side of the page. (Two sponsors, Southern Oregon Diesel and Coach-Builder's Bulletin have also become clients!) In addition to those sponsors, The BNO Store generates revenue from the sale of books and branded merchandise. As well, 'Buses for Sale' ads add to the bottom line. You also asked how you can contribute to the site other than by purchasing an ad. Brian, you already have. Incalculably. Like each and every BNO viewer, I appreciate that you're here. Thank YOU. Best regards, Ian www.busnut.com |
