Joe, there is a boat carrying frame made to fit on a pickup truck, maybe it could be modified to fit the back of your bus's roof. It sorta lifts the boat from the ground and places it upside down on the top of the frame. Could be modified to lift 2 canoes instead of one boat. I have seen them on trucks but don't know where to buy one, sorry. Peter. |

If a guy put an eye bolt thru the roof and a 3-4in pully a little bit forward of where the bow is when the stern is even w/ the rear bumper of the coach, a guy could hoist up his canoe/yac up on the roof, make that line fast, and then lash the stern to each side of his bumper in an inverted V fashion. Then he wouldn't have to go up on the roof at all and thereby eliminate the need for putting up saftey rails. Just a thought.A roller and a cradle might be in order. But I think its doable w/o going up on the roof every time to load/unload. Good luck, TonyW |

Eventually, I am going to build a small patio and storage rack on my roof. One thing that will be mounted to the storage deck is a small crane. Got it from Harbor Freight for about 75 bucks and currently use it on my trailer. I would think a towing strap and electric winch hanging from the crane would bring a canoe up nicely. Scott |
