All over the news this morning, a Trailways bus accident in Montana, sadly killing two. Pics of the Prevost involved show integrity of coach construction vs stick 'n staple. A sobering reminder to be careful in foul weather conditions. FWIW & HTH. . .  | ||

Those big-beautiful-picture windows that seem to be all the rage contributed in the numbers of people hurt, one eye witness said people were being spit out of them like popcorn popping . A 40-ft'er in a 6 wheel drift is a sobering thought, bounding thru a ditch or median on it's side is unimaginable & not something I want to carry around in my memory bank of visuals OR personal experience for that matter . | ||

On one of our trips south in the old 5. I hit a patch of black ice, lost control and was sure that we were in big trouble. It was on I 15 at Great falls Montana. There was a railroad overpass that we were just getting onto when the back end of the coach decided to head south then north then south then north... I think you get the picture. We were fortunate that there wasn't more traffic and that I was able to get the coach under control again. Needless to say we had a long "rest" in Great falls and only ventured out again once the sun had burned the ice off the road. I know how bad that I felt about not realizing the road conditions and driving accordingly. I can only imagine how the driver of that ill fated coach feels. My heart goes out to him and all the people on that coach. Les |
