We are taking the 4106 on a road trip. Leaving Gastoina NC to go to Niagara Fall.On the Canada side. Then I'm going to the Adirondack Mountains, Higgins Bay NY where my Dad lives. Going up 77 to Charleston WV then 79 to Erie PA And so on. Then 104 to us 11 Or 81 to 365 to 8 . Any one know any thing that might be a Interest along this way ? or maybe some old Buses to look at. Thanks for the input |

Hi Bob, While you're in Niagara Falls, Ontario, be sure to shoot down to the bus holding area at the south end past Table Rock. If you sit there long enough, I guarantee you'll start to drool at the shear numbers of bus varieties that accumulate there. While you're tootling around, be sure to take some pictures of the local green and white shuttle buses called the "People Movers". They're old Orion I custom made buses designed specifically for sight-seeing. Though they are getting extremely old now, the interesting point is that they, and the routes they travel, will soon become extinct, as the City of Niagara Falls is planning to reconstruct the shuttle service above ground, perhaps with magnetic induction propulsion, or similar, vehicles. Ahhhh, to have two casinos in your town!! Niagara Falls has been transformed from a two-bit dirty has-been of a tourist trap into a world class shiny clean gem of a tourist trap. Just because of the casinos. For the couple of extra minutes you'll travel, the Queenston-Lewiston bridge is still your best bet for coming across the border, if you happen to make it there on the weekend, when it's always chaos at border crossings. Have fun! Ian www.busnut.com |

I wonder when we'll see the first "people mover" conversion? |

I bought a full set of Michelin tires for 60% of US cost from Niagra Tire and Battery when I was there four years ago. |

Be sure to spend lots of money while you are up here, please! It helps the exchange rate for when we come down in the winter and spend lots of ours at your place! Hey Ian! Are you getting to Florida at New Year's this year? happy coaching! buswarrior |

Johnny, My wife and I visited Niagra Falls this year for our 25th anniversary and we rode the "People Mover" buses. They are great for sightseeing, but have way too much glass for a conversion. Also, as pointed out they are old (but rebuilt each winter) and some parts are not available and have to be made. Jim G. - Ohio 1979 RTS-II 40X96" |

The last time we were there we rode those jet boats. WOW WHAT A RIDE they dive right into the rapids below the falls. I would recomend it. John |
