Hi folks, Some time ago, George Myers tried to accurately calculate how many conversion buses there were, including new conversions done from the factory. His study put the number at about 3,000 buses. It's probably still about that, +/-. So, of that, the 2 major bus web sites currently have about 67% to 70% of that, in about the 2,000 to 2,400 viewers. Of those, we have about 15% of that viewership or about 300 on FB. Remember, too, that Facebook is a public group, so people can watch without clicking the "Like" button, though we'd love it if you did. The population of the U.S. is about 313,000,000. FB has about 139 million viewers in the U.S., or about 45% of the population, so their average is less than ours in viewership, by about 22% to 25%. Please feel free to join our Facebook page. There's lots going on over there, too. The link is on the Topics page all the time here on the bulletin board: https://www.facebook.com/groups/141126842574707/ Thought you'd like to know. Well, I'm not part of the 139 million Facebook people and I'm not one of the 300 either. I'm striving to keep the universe in balance. But thanks, Ian for hooking it up for those who use it. |

I am liking the face book for bus nuts! I know of several people who are now on the BB because they were able to first make contact thru the facebook page. To the nay sayers, just think of it as another tool in the box and another way for people who share our interest to connect. |

The first thing that went through my mind when I read Ian's post was: "of course there a fewer people on Facebook then on the forums" The logic is very simple.. The instant communication of Facebook, MySpace, and Twitter are from a younger generation and don't have as much of an appeal to us from the previous generations. I use Facebook, but primarily to let my "friends" know what gig we are at that night... I rarely post anything about me personally. It is a great tool for getting information to a lot of people at one time. . |
