My water pump rotates ccw when viewed from the front of the engine. The vanes on the impeller curve cw. Is this correct? Does anyone know if there are cw and ccw impellers? The Detriot dealer I talked to says they all rotate ccw with the vanes curved cw. I don't buy it.

Vanes work like a snowplow, throwing the water
out toward the outside of the pump housing.
Thus, if the impeller rotates CCW, the outer
end of each vane would trail the inner, leading
edge; hence, the vanes point toward the CCW
direction.
