Anyone know a good place to have an inspection on an MC8, and possible service done in the Reno area?

Thanks in advance, Jack

Thanks for your reply, do you have any experience with them?

I'm looking at a converted bus in this area, and would like to have it inspected (ie: structural and mechanical) and if suitable, there is some serice/installation that needs to be done.

HI Jack,
Yes I was unfortunate enough to have some cooling problems while traveling through there.....Night Shop Forman 3 years ago was a former LTR Stages director of Maint.

I was very pleased with the service.

make an appointment

Thanks doug, it sounds like they would be able to do the necessary repairs on the bus. It is in need of power steering hoses, tires, and the alternator is currently not installed (belt driven)

I'll call them and see if they could give an adequate inspection of the structural part of the bus.

Frontier Coach Lines are located in Reno (part of the Frontier Hotel & Casino chain) and their mechanics use to do side work. Charter outfits often allow their mechanics to do side jobs "in shop" for a piece of the action. I don't have an address or phone for them.

Would that be Frontier Tours? That's the only company I've found so far.

Jack: Yes, I think that is them. They operate other buses besides tour groups, Amtrak under contract for one.

I did not have very good luck with DD in Sparks. I took my MC9 in for a general check up and fluid changing. I found them unhelpful and expensive. When I left their shop, my turbo came loose less than a mile down the road, destroying the impeller. I was lucky I only had to pay for a new turbo and not a complete engine rebuild.

For what it's worth
