I have an '81 Eagle that just developed an air leak when the rear brake is applied. (I noticed it while sitting at a red light)

If I don't hold down quite so hard (just barely enough to hold the coach still) no air is lost.

I know there is something wrong like an air release gauge gone bad or something...

Any suggestions?

Air coach fully- use wheel chocks on both front and rear of 1 or 2 wheels -turn off engine- place brakes in driving mode (release emg brakes) - have someone apply brakes - and check for leaks- maybe a hose or a pancake or relay valve or But use care to be sure it does not roll. ralph7

Rob,
Does your air leak down on the gauge when you have your foot on the brake? It will leak when you first press the pedal. But does it still leak when you hold it?
Not related, but I just had a problem with my 04 when I pushed the pedal it went all the way down. Luke thought it might be the diaframe of the pressure regulator valve. He was right.

Yes, when I hold the brake pedal down, the air leaks out on the rear driver's side. I watch that air gauge drop and all of the sudden I'm out of air!

Hey guys,

You were right. The diaphram was worn out and leaking air. I got it replaced for $5 parts / $65 labor.
