Well, the bus is far from complete but we made our first bus gathering with her this week-end. (been working on her for over 4 yrs.) What a GREAT time.
For those of you who said you were coming to Chama NM. for this gathering but didn't, You missed a really great week-end. The park was really nice and Jim & Ester Ferry were great host. Ester prepared a fantastic brisket and I brought some smoked pork ribs from the Ranch Kitchen. On Sunday we all rode on the Cumbres & Toltec RR, between Chama NM. and Antonito Co. The senery was breathtaking. Spent most of the time standing on the platform right behind the tender and Steam Locomotive, What an experience! Awesome! The bus ran great with the exception of the annoying whistle thru the door while driving, Will have to find a fix for that!!

Probby was a good one. I went to ride the C&T RR abt. 5-6 yrs. ago. Damn thing jumped the track up at the lunch stop. They sent up another train to get us, fed us lunch, took us back down, and gave us ALL of our money back as we stepped of the train. Been meaning to go back and finish the ride but always somewhere else to go. Maybe next year.

John,

Great news, glad you turned a few wheels. Now how about some pics?

Sorry we never got out your way on the trip to Indy, but with the car not finished, so it was a waste of time and money for the haul across and back for a few days of glory....... LOL.

We will be sure to stop by on our next trip through, probably next year sometime. See ya at the Caverns before that no doubt.

Peter.

I was in that neck of the woods last weekend. Saw more than the usual number of conversions on the road. Wish I would have known about the doins ahead of time. Congrats on the maiden voyage.

Same week end same place next year for the same thing. I had a page on my site for 6 months prior to the rally and it was posted several times on the GMC-busnuts group. Will add some pics from the rally and a page to my site this week some time. Name of the group is "Dogs at Large". Jim ki0hr@centurytel.net www.1-20.com

John, this past weekend was *supposed* to be my maiden overnighter before I got grounded. Glad one of us made it and all went well with yours.

And my scenery would have been an improvement over an industrial storage yard, but hardly breathtaking. Thanks for the inspiration!
