I have read with alot of interest about the LED lights some of you are using. Does anybody know of a website for 'dummies' as to how to build my own lights? I have no practical experience with this type of thing. However, I'm sorta handy at other DIY stuff. I would like to do some custom lights for various purposes. But, can they be bright enough for lighting a room? or an area? Thankyou for your help Mark s'COOLbusnut |

radio shack has led lights ...you could try getting a piece of masonite or 3/16 sheet of plastic ...drill holes ,install leds, connect all pos to a circut & all ground to a circut >>> |

I'm looking for a similar resource, I'm planning to build some turnsignal lamps into the saddlebags of my hog. There is a manufacturer of LED lighting procucts that had a display in the chandlery of a boatyard I used to work with, they were small, like 1/4" items that could be mounted just by drilling a hole. they are BRIGHT! you can't look into them directly, however they are not good for a large area. they are great for under cabinets and are also used to helmstation night-lighting. I wish I could remember the name, if nobody else comes up with the name I can call my friend and ask them. Gary |

a "LITTLE" off topic...was in Wal-Mart a few months ago & bought a l.e.d. flashlight...7.95 I think & it is shaped like a 50 cal bullet...ALWAYS in my life ...the battery is always dead when I need a flashlight...this one shows NO sign of low battery after MONTHS of use |

One of the best places for LEDs is that E*ay place. There are thousands of all different types available for good prices. Peter. |

Search the www, try searching LED, or any combination of words to find the LED for Dummies site. There is one out there, I found it when I was searching LED info last year. ALSO, depending on what kind of led use you have in mind, there are some LED lights already built, some sold by West Marine and some by Boaters World. I have used an LED or 2 from each location. very interesting stuff. cd |

I bought some very very bright leds on eb*y for my rc airplanes. any color you want! I can fly at night with them! the ones I got run on my 4.8v receiver pack, not sure what they will handle for voltage. |
