I don't know how I missed it (or why it's there), but I just realized I have an empty battery compartment on my bus. The start battery (a 12V Group 31) is under the "hood", on the right framerail just behind the front axle in a box. Under the driver's seat is a pull-out tray (currently empty), that appears to be sized for a pair of 8D's. My questions are:

1) Does anyone have the dimentions of a T105 handy? If I can put my house batteries here, that will greatly halp things.

2) If they won't fit (and I suspect they won't, since IIRC, a T105 is substantially bigger than an 8D), what about putting my genset on the slide? A genset can't be THAT much heavied than 2 big batteries.

Also do not forget that you will need some more height to get the caps off and some way to water the T-105.

And..if you go to "Hydrocaps", then you will also need some more height, but I do not know how much. Help here.

Johnny -

Another possibility is to use a couple of deep-cycle 8Ds for your house system, and put them on that tray. Especially if it's already sized for them!

The tray slides out.

If 11x7x12" is a 105, I should be able to do this easily.

In fact, that sounds smaller than an 8D.

I've never seen 8D deep-cycle's...maybe.

Surette has the possably best quality 8D deep cycle batts that money can by , unfortunatly LOTS of money.

An investment of that much cash should only be made with a good method of MONITORING the battery state of charge.

In the archives.
