A quick question from a newbie: What resources do you go to for used or discount interior appliances (stoves, fridge, etc)? Most of the online classifieds seem to only list full coaches and I'm not sure where to start in terms of offline resources. For what it's worth I'm in the Northeast and I'm willing to drive a few hours to save some money. Thanks, Miro |

check these sites out http://www.ronthebusnut.com/browseDisp.php?ID=3 https://www.rvsurplussalvage.com/index.php?page=shop/index& I bought a wrecked 99 model RV & gutted it. For $1000. I got a fridge, stove/oven, water heater, roof air, 40 amp converter & all sorts of misc. You might want to check that option out too. Good luck, Ken |

Wrecked rv are excellent for ideas on how to do trim, counters and how for scale ideas. How much cabinet in the kitchen? how much closet space? etc. I've never been impressed with Ron's prices. He's got that 6v92ta (damaged) on his site for what, $7500? 6500? i forget. Way out of the money, esp. for a damaged unit. Been there for two+ years now. |

Home depo remodels the kitchen & bath area quite often...sell the old (UNUSED) fixtures for about half price...or less |

Yeah, you need to get with the department manager and find out when they do the annual setups, and be ready. that's my plan, I'm a steelworker, not a cabinet guy. Gary |

IF you plan on home style cabinets etc , contact a local "High end " remodeler. They will usually GIVE you an entire kitchen as removed , just for hauling it away immediatly. Sure its lots more material than you need , but that gives a couple of donors to fit as trial. And old good stuff is more likely to be plywood or solid , than almost useless chipboard. Masking tape on the floor is great for basic layout , and an actual cardboard mockup is a time saver if your building custom cabinets from scratch. Worked for me, FAST FRED |

Just by coincidince, I happened to be in Home Depot this afternoon and I asked the department manager about getting their takeoffs. It seems that folks buy the units for nearly nothing, then take them to the next Home depot and demand a refune, claiming lost receipts. Even HD Employees themselves are doing this. So--they no longer sell the floor units. Unbelievable. Gary |

If you are in the Northwest you can look at this website. A friend bought a door for their trailer from this place and said that they had about everything a person could ever want in RV salavage. http://www.olywa.net/singletonsrv Ron |
