Yesterday, I went out to move my Gillig Phantom to get out something behind it and when I started it and built up air pressure the throttle did nothing. Just went to the floor and back. Now I know that the throttle doesn't operate until air pressure is built, but I had 120 lbs. I also noticed that the high idle switched brought the unit to high idle, but it would not release, stayed on high idle after turning switch off. Restarted the bus a few times, no change. The engine is a 6v92TA.
Any ideas?, I'm thinking maybe an air valve.c

Should have told you that after restarting the bus it went back to normal idle, but still no peddle throttle.

had a similar problem in my Gillig Phantom. The cause was a clogged filter in the air line to the auxiliary air tank. The filter looks like a brass cylinder about an inch in diameter and three inches long. Check the pressure on your auxiliary tank. I installed a pressure gauge on the dash to monitor this tank.

After thinking about it again, I remembered that the filter is in the line after the tank. I measure the pressure at the distribution block that is in the front. In my Phantom, it is between the steering column and the front sheet metal.

No matter what, the first thing you need to check is to ensure that full supply pressure is getting to the foot control valve.

Dumb, Dumb, Dumb... the bus is just in the beginning stages and still has a rear passenger door. Guess what, it has a safety override. Throttle will not operate if door is not closed securely, it wasn't. But thanks for the education, this is how I learn...
