Has anyone got any leads on a booster cylinder and its control valve for sale? Please email me at pvcces@kpunet.net if you know of one available that's reasonably priced. Thanks. Tom Caffrey PD4106-2576 |

IF you look in the suppliment to the maint manual you will find a spring unit , nicknamed the "mousetrap". One of these requires a 15 min instalation , no cutting into air lines ect. The clutch is VERY easy after its installed. With silly folks junking their great stick trannys for automatics , there should be one avilable . FAST FRED |

Mel - The "mousetrap" is covered in the 4106 maintenance manual supplement (X-6414), Section 5, pg 37. RJ PD4106-2784 (Has moustrap, out of adjustment) |

Mel - Oops, forgot the following: Don't know if the mousetrap will work on a 4104. The 4104 has the bevel gearset AFTER the transmission. The 4106 and later coaches have the bevel gears between the clutch and transmission, so the clutch housing is quite different. With some "yanqui imagineering" it could probably be adapted, tho. . . I have found a mousetrap and ordered it. It should be here in a little over a week. Thanks for your help, Fast Fred. Someone responded to my earlier post, and he may send me a cylinder, no valve. If he does and I comfirm that I have no need of it, I will post a notice that it is available. Tom Caffrey PD4106-2576 |
