With all of the experienced bus nuts here. Does anyone know where to find or have a list of optional equipment for the Pd 4104. I have a 1957, but any year model info would probably work.

Example, my bus has skylights in the roof/ceiling

I doubt those skylights were OEM options.

The best place I've found is in the parts book and wiring diagrams where "special item" is often listed.

Greyhound very often had options no others had.

Jon -

Pic suggestion: Upload to Photobucket, then provide a link here.

As Gus said, the parts book and shop manual wiring diagrams are the best current source of OEM options. But you'll have do do some sleuthing!

there were SEO lists, but I don't where you'd find them anymore. There are some SEO wiring diagrams still around though.

Based on data we have from various sources our rig started out at Yosemite NP. She was one of 2 pd 4104's purchased by Yosemite Park & Curry Co. The spent 20+/- years cruising the park. The glass in the skylights is on the thick variety like windshield glass.

Got my laptop back today and i will try the photo bucket route.

Jon -

Photobucket link worked fine, nice coach.

Because of Yosemite's natural layout, your 4104 spent those 20+ years in 1st, 2nd & 3rd gears crawling around this beautiful place, unless it actually left the park on a charter. (Yosemite's only an hour from me, I'm very familiar with their operation, which is now Yosemite Transportation System [YTS], successor to YP&CC.)

Curry Co may have installed those skylights, they've done some interesting things with their fleet. . . as has YTS.

(Delaware North is now the concessionaire in Yosemite, and the bus fleet is a semi-independent division.)

Since they were for Yosemite they may have been special order but RJ probably has it right.

Imagine trying to find replacement glass or gaskets!!

My 1975 P8M4905A spare has has skylights the whole length from hump back. They look to be the same size pieces as the windshield, although I've never checked. The coach was made this way. It has a wide backbone running lengthwise from front to rear. It looks to be very substantial. There is a 3 foot wide sheet of aluminum covering the top center lengthwise. Probably from passengers complaining of roasting on a sunny day. It is a Short Line bus from N.J. Probably used for sightseeing. Looked to only have about 300,000 miles on it from Tachograph. Don't know if it is correct though.
