In my old school 4104 bus I have 5 batteries that are in Parellel. The Question is... what is proper way to get your 12 volts (+) and (-)? Some say to get like the (+) on one end and the (-) from the other end of the bank. But in Parellel does it make a differance? I will take any input on this...
Thanks
Steve

Yes, stagger the connections so that the positive is connected to battery #1 and the negative connected to battery #5. This keeps the batteries the most equal. Connecting both at #1 draws the greater amps from #1 and the leasser amps from #5.

Thanks Mark for your input on this. That is how I am running right now... but when I was wiring up the batteries I was thinking how nice it would look if I just came off the end battery as the big wires just run all the way down the (+) side of each battery. But thanks for input!!

I'm not sure what you mean by the "big wires," as all the wires should be the same size. That is to say that all eight of the jumpers should be not only the same gauge, but also the same length, and the load/charge wires to the bank should both be the same gauge, which might be one size larger than the jumpers.

Steve, yes it does, and Mark had the correct answer. I was just responding to your follow-up comment, so perhaps I misunderstood you when you said the big wires were all on the positive side.

ok thanks Sean for the help also That is the way I have it wired up but when I was putting the wires back on I was thinking (which get me in trouble sometimes) do it make a difference if you come off the first battery or the middle one or the last one @@@ but now I have it with (+) on the first battery and the (-) on the last battery.. anyway that is how it is wired now... nice thing about my bus is all lights are 12 volt and the fans and the heater,, gas water heater. about the only time I need to run the Gen set is for hair dryer and most importance is the A/C and microwave...
Thanks
Steve
