Something that might be useful to other people: You can siphon water from a tray or other area, over a rise or side with a wet rag. Wet the rag first then place one end in the pool of water you want to siphon. Run the rag over any obstacle and down to a lower area to drain. It works just like a siphon hose without needing suction and will siphon DRY. I use this when I need to dry out a the generator compartment after washing it and the bus is leaning the wrong way. I also use it to drain one of my battery trays that does not have a drain and collects rainwater. I run the rag through a piece of large (1 1/2") flexible plastic tubing to keep any acid off the bus frame and skin when I drain the battery tray. I saw this as a demo in a science book in 9th grade using a rag to drain water from one glass to a lower one. Nobody I've met seems to have heard of this so I thought I'd pass it on. Steve Fessenden |
