I'd like to hear how others have successfully aimed their headlights. I've installed new headlight buckets and could squirrel hunt at night with them. In the past I've used an "aimer" bought at the local Pep-boys. It was a yellow device that had a bubble-level on it. Worked OK for my pickup. I'd like to hear how others have dealt with this issue.

I had successfully aimed my lights on my cars by finding a parking lot with a level area toward a blank wall on a building or fence. If you are using Lo/hi beam combined lights, The center of the low beam beam at 30 feet is slightly below level and then check the high beam, it should be direct center at level height with the bulb, straight ahead. The high beam over rides the low unless your lo beam causes glare issues then adjust accordingly. Easy way to check is to see how your car is adjusted against the wall. The adjustments should be the same. If I remember the the adjustment pattern for the lo only beam, the height is the same as mentioned above but the beam projects slightly to the right. Again, check your car for reference. Its not that hard to adjust. The level adjuster works well but you must be on level ground to be accurate. Then again, I find that the adjustment is not all that critical. cd

Derv, You can get them lot closer than you are by using wall ect. to aim . then first time you are out in hazy, foggy weather when you can see the beams, stop and fine tune them, I've had trucks for years and find this works good, right beam can be a little to shoulder and higher than left, don't set them too high as many times you need to see under fog ect. If someone comes at you with hammer to adjust your lites you know they are a "little" high. Jim
