Thanks Two Dogs
You can bet my coach is not setting. 29 nights onboard, thats 4 weeks out of the last 4 months.
Even when I am not taking it down the road. I fire it up once a week and move it around. Its getting close to freezing temps at night here in Michigan. I will be getting it ready for winter soon. Hope to be a snowbird and roll south to Hudson beach fl this winter for a couple weeks.
We have kids in school yet. Limits travel time, ya know.

I added a bunch more photos tonite. Take another peek.

Hope everyone enjoys their conversion as much as this family has in its first year.
Happy Converting

Larry -

Be sure, when you fire your coach up to "move it around", that you get it out and RUN it for 25 -50 miles or so, to lubricate everything and warm the powertrain up enough to "blow out the crud" that accumulates in the crankcase.

Letting it sit on "fast idle" will NOT warm it up enough to do so, matter of fact, it tends to build up more crud inside.

Better to let the horse out of the barn to run for awhile. . .

Wow what a great sunny day toady was and 65 outside.

Here in Michigan its been cloudy for 2 weeks straight and cold in the 50`s. We had an awesome sunny warm september, then October hit burrr. There was snow 120 miles north of me last week.

But today I got her out. The first chance sense we fixed the dryer valve sticking problem. Its been parked for 2 weeks and today it checked out fine.

Its going to be hard for me to winterize this thing. I simply don`t want it to be cold....So pray for warm weather for me this winter. Yes I could move south and what miss the 72 inches of snow we get each year ?

We get a lot of snow in the winter. Not sure I will be getting this out and going skating this winter. I know I can wait for a clear dry day and dig it out plug it in and blast the crud out. But for about 3 months this winter it will set. Sadly unused. I will be working on it though with the furnace running....inside warm ! I do have to fire it up and run it for an hour about every 3 weeks. This keeps everything moving and working, oil, air, charging sys and valves and prevents seizing up from setting to long.
Really we have no choice with our obligations and weather, we have to let it set for 3 or 4 months this winter.

My 6V92 ran 4000 miles this season on its oil. I will be waiting to change the oil again until the spring 05, Because of setting for months and condensation over the winter. Which does form from short run times with the motor. I am sorry I gotta start it and make sure all parts keep moving and just hear it purrrr, crud or no crud. Hope the crud comes out in the oil in the spring.

If not a series 60 will take its place.....

I do understand what your saying though RJ. I wish I could let the horses out each and every day this winter it sets, believe me !

Again thanks for all the kind words everyone!

Its been fun meeting new bus nuts that have made contact with me from this posting.
Looking forward to the bus rally next year.
Thanks BNO too.
A very thankful bus nut.

Hi Gary
I am near Grattan raceway, 30 miles NE of Grand Rapids or about 5 miles west of Belding.

My Nephew sells clothes all over the state. He likes to call me all the time and fill me in as to the snow reports. We like to snowmobile togather. A good kid ! Shudabeen a Weatherman
He said there was about 3" of snow in Grayling on the 10th and south of Houghton near Michigan tech in the up there was 6"in the woods and up to a foot of snow on the 14th He said there were banks of snow by the road up there and enough to ride. Most of the up had no snow yet. Sorry I am not ready to ride yet.
I just put the furnace in the caoch a couple weeks ago. So glad to have heat. That way it will not just stop construction. I want to detail and finish this coach. Not leave it almost done. Got this far and I am going for it...

Gary do you have a coach. If so what do you do about winter parking and not driving it. Tell me about your rig near the big town of detroit. Must be fun driving around that hectic city.

ah...you're a few hours from me then. Weather is the same. I could really live without hearing of Snow near me. Although I've been traveling to Motown for about five years, I'm a recent transplant from the west coast, where "Winterizing" means a fillup, a wash/wax and new wiper blades.

We're converting a 30' Bluebird Ex-Transit pusher(Don't tell Two Dogs it's not a Skoolie), Right now, the curbside is reskinned, but the move to Motown put us in "Projectus Interruptus". Now it's too cold to hang steel, so I either have to wait until next spring/summer or find some big shop I can work in on the weekend. I'm working on finding a spot.

As for driving, haven't done any in the bus really, but compared to the California Bay area, Motown is a piece of cake.

Yes Gary I did the bay area in a rented van. The hills were so steep. I stoped the van and just set there laughing about the angles of the houses and the way they parked cars on these hills.
I would have never toured with my coach that close up.
The Motor city is more traffic jam type driving.

Thanks for the info on your conversion.
Gotta know I wish you the best.

Forgot to mention my day.
2 days in a row I got to drive it.
Man I let the horses run today.
Put the hammer down, gotta believe 95mph+ coasted 2 miles
Came into town for fuel and there sat the police at the bp
$235 a gallon. Need I say anymore.
Cooled it on the way home !

I would have told them officers that 2 dogs told me to let the horses run. I can here it now.
You got a speeding ticket with the BUS...Well honey ya know,

Size 13 boots are heavy
