I have a 76 mci 8 and it runs me 1082.00 for Progressive...My State Farm agent says that here in Mi they base the premium off msrp of the vehicle when new...even with a stated value policy. So any idea what msrp of a 76 mci 8 was? |

Might try contacting MCI directly, they might be able to pull up the info on your coach if you provide the VIN. Suggest you contact the main US office in Des Plaines, IL. Contact info is on their website: http://www.mcicoach.com/index.html HTH, RJ PD4106-2784 Fresno CA |

Go to Green Bay with you title, get WI plates. Get a P.O box and have your mail forwarded to your MI address. Never pay insurance again. Michigan Law MCL 257.328 subsection 8 states that Michigan insurance laws apply only to vehicles registered in MI. I've had to fight a ticket on it once but its worth the $4000 I'd pay a year to insure all my vehicles. Get the P.O box before going to Green Bay. |

So...How much do you pay for insurance if you register your vehicle in Wisconsin? How does that effect claims? I presume you need the P.O. box strictly for the registration process and the only mail that would be forwarded would be that mail which is related to your plates?..Can you use your normal address for the insurance and can the insurance co here in Mich give you a better rate or can I use my current provider and get a better rate based on WI plates? |

His point is you don't legally have to keep insurance, in which case there are no claims. Of course registering a vehicle were you don't live is questionably legal at best. Gary |

In case you guys are interested, if an agent for a company fouls up the paperwork or details on your insurance, you have a better chance of winning on a claim than if a multicomapny broker does the same thing. The reason it could turn out that way is because the agent works for the company and the company is responsible for his mistakes. The broker works for you, so you are responsible for the broker's mistakes. If the broker fouls up your insurance, you are limited to making a claim against the broker. In some cases, it could make a big difference. I like State Farm because the rates are reasonable and I can get most of the coverages I want from them. And I don't usually need to deal with anyone that is not in our home town. Mark, you might want to ask your agent if you have ACV or replacement cost coverage. I did and the agent made it clear that the coverage was ACV. The reason they want the original cost is so they can start depreciating the coverage from the original date at the original value. Our comprehensive coverage was more than the liability on our 4106, which is 40 years old. They started with the value at conversion and the conversion date, which would mean that they wouldn't be paying very much for a total loss, so we dropped that coverage and retained the rest. For what it's worth. Tom Caffrey PD4106-2576 Suncatcher |
