I might be traveling this way soon, and wondering if anyone has commentary on this route. I am a new bus owner, and this will be my first trip, and need to get east of the rockies the safest, most direct way. TIA

95 isn't bad...you will be going past area 51...strange place...hundreds of white vans pull out of there at shift change to take employies home...after that...there is maybels whorehouse..on the left.behind a service station...please stop at the station and cafe & get me two coffee cups that say maybels whorehouse on them..

BE sure & diesel up...diesel prices on that road are 30% higher.... it doesn't say where you are...but west of Reno is Donner pass...pretty good hill...go SLOW down the hill if you are going by there...

I'm in Sparks right now, was planning on driving to Minneapolis from here, but a little reluctant to "cut my teeth" on the Provo/Evanston area with winter conditions. Plan B is to drive from Reno to Atlanta, as that is my final destination.

Help me, and Maybel's here I come!

Hey guys, not sure if you can go over the dam on 93, the detour is through Searchlight, maybe it's just for truck? Maybe you better check. I have a place near there, near Peter (Madbrit). Safe travels Jack! Bob

You should check with NDOT/ADOT about Hoover, but every time I've gone through, they told me "no" to a motorhome (GMC4905) So I go U.S. 95 to Nev 163 and cross the Colorado at Bullhead City. Zero worry that way, except remember that Seaarchlight is 25 MPH (NOT 30!)Pop. 470 with 11 cruisers, and 19 cops !!! and the hill down 163 is kinda' steep. Flying J in Kingman for fuel, but a bit tight getting in and out. Say HI to The MadBrit on your way through.
Since I-40 is a torn-up, worn-out mess, think seriously about (just east of Kingman) picking up U.S. 93 and U.S. 60 down through Phoenix to I-10) then East and pick up I-20 on in to Atlanta. I've driven 40, 10/20 both ways several times, and there is less than a hundred miles difference and the Southern Route is a much, much nicer road, and sightly less traffic. Unless it snows up north, then every truck in the world is down there running in the dry and sunshine. G'Luck, and Cheers...JJ

Hoover dam is open to motorhomes, but not commercial buses. I crossed 6 wks. Ago in my conversion, just a cursory inspection, 5 minute delay.

I thought the link above could get your coffee cups but their souvenirs aren't quite that innocent.

And yes, the bus still has prostate problems. I figured I'd have to get a real j o b in order to pay for her fixin. Healthcare costs for busses is almost as bad as ours.

I did have another idea though. You suggested a bottlejack, which wouldn't fit, but a CAR scissor jack will! I'll be trying that real soon.

...what if you tied the tag to a nice, SOLID hunk of something in the ground, and jacked the bus up?
