I am contemplating doing a deal on a 1981 MCI 9 in south eastern Alberta(approx an hour out of Calgary) The bus is not currently licensed and there are no bus shops in the area. I have asked all the questions which were suggested in response to my previous E-mail. The vendor started a conversion using a wrecked RV and there is still work to be done but, I can see the potential. The reason he is selling is due to the a divorce. I need to know if there is anyone in the area to go and check the unit out for me.(or recommend someone) I will pay reasonable, agreed upon expenses before you go. Depending on the results of the inspection I may then take time off work and fly out to Calgary to do the final inspection myself.

Too bad he's losing the bus.
Ahhh.... aside from the mechanics, see if your inspector can send
you some detailed photos of the interior and bays. I had a bus
near Tampa, Fl recommended to me as being very sound
mechanically. After driving out for a look, I found both the floor
layout and plumbing would never do under any circumstance.
It would have taken too much to change it to my needs. |
