the air compressor on my AM General (detroit 6v71) keeps making air until the safety blows off (135 lbs or so). It must be the govenor but where is it and is it easy to rebuild? thanks in advance-stevebnut |

Governor is usually bolted directly to the side of the compressor. It is a small casting about the size of a large salt shaker. New ones are about $13. It hardly pays to rebuild. Jim Stacy |
