How do you get the tiny swirls out of stainless ? I have tried using the 3M foam pads but they did not cut . The wool pad will cut but leaves small swirls that you see if the sun is just right. |

First off... remember that when you're polishing something, you are actually creating finer and finer scratches... so, first rule of thumb is DON'T use a power buffer.... instead, use straight line hand buffing, and go with the body lines. I've used a product called Mother's with some degree of success, but I know there are better products out there that work better...
Also, with steel wool pads (best in my opinion for stainless and chrome -- never used it on aluminum before), the same rule applies... no circular motions... straight lines.

you have put big scratches in the stainless...now you have to make the scratches smaller,go to a sheepwool pad and use rubbing compound,then use a good wax,like mothers |

Or to make it all simple, just use a finer and finer polishing compound. As I recall, you should finish it up with tripoli. Power buffing does NOT leave any marks at all if you use the right compound. |
