Will be raining in DFW until Fri. Hope it misses you. Good thing your toad will cover the hitch decorations. Mamma don't want to see those. Nor would the shiny black Surburbans patrolling around Crawford. I was followed for 10 miles the last time I got close. Hope you aren't offline as long as last year. We would miss your crusty presence. Who else's gonna keep these knuckleheads in line? |

Hey Twodogs and John, You guys coming through Pleasanton on your way to the coast? I'm just off IH 37 in town if you want to stop by for a visit. I'll check the board later for your response. It's been raining hear since 5:00pm, 8:40 now and still raining. Lots of flooding in the hill country, but it all goes down fast so after this stuff moves out it should be an easy run all the way to the valley. David Anderson |

Just got off the phone with Two Dogs, he was overnighting near Lubbock, cruising easy, everything was smooth with the Eagle, 280Z car did not like going backwards all the way I guess, was swaying some, he thought it was tire pressure on the dolly problems. Typical retired truck driver, he is just loafing along like he never got to do when driving for a living. |

Reading the previous post that mentioned the BOVINE TESTICALES,I recalled the time when I was introduced to ROCKY MOUNTAIN OYSTERS. In 1974 I rode my bicycle across the USA starting in San Francisco,CA, going east to eventually end up in New York City where my grandmother lived. Along the way on this great adventure, I had my first and only taste of ROCKY MOUNTAIN OYSTERS. It was in the small town of Wray,Colorado. When I entered CO. I noticed signs on the local eateries advertising these RMOs, and thought to myself, where are they getting oysters out here? Oysters come from the ocean, and I had never heard of fresh water oysters, so what are they? When I got to the town of Wray, after setting up camp at the RV Park, I decided not to cook since darkness had set in. Instead I went over to the local cafe to have dinner, and sure enough they had that sign in the window advertising those RMOs. After I placed my order, I asked the waitress about the RMOs "Where did they come from?" and she told me they where grown locally. Then she went to another table. Shortly she came back and set a small plate in front of me with several small round flat breaded things, along with cocktail sauce and said "Try these. "They're on the house." So I proceeded to take one of these RMOs, dip it in the sauce, pop it in my mouth and chew. And chew. And chew. Toughest chewiest oyster I ever had! After I finished the plate,(being to polite to say I thought they were the worst tasting oysters ever) I asked her "really what are these?" She then leaned down, looked me straight in the eyes, and said "BULLS BALLS." Well, everybody in the cafe burst out laughing. I must have turned so many shades of red, totally embarrassed. But I kept them down, finished my dinner when it came, left a tip, and walked back to the RV Park. Later that night I woke up, my stomach hurting so badly. Luckily I had some Pepto-Bismol in my gear. Those RMOs sure are rich. The next day when I stopped for lunch at a hamburger stand, I met some collge students working the combines, harvesting wheat, and told them about my experience the night before. Then they told me about the "Nut Fry Parties" they have when the young male cows were castratd. I thought I was pretty open-minded, but when it comes to male manhood, we have to stick together, no matter what species we are. Some things just have to be left as is! Thomas Winterhalter |

You'd really have a problem on a sheep docking crew! We pulled em with our teeth. Sometimes they get lost, and end up going down raw. Just like eating oyster on the half shell. Lamb frys are good, too. |

He must be looking for a bull, only made it two hundred miles to Abilene yesterday. I could make some snide remarks about Eagles and the lack of real estate covered, but I won't. |

Niles, Thats the correct spelling Wray,CO it's located where US 34 & US 385 intersect in Eastern CO. I've been there twice in my adventures on my bicycle 1974 & 1980 second time through didn't have the RMOs |
