The Skinner valve (Engine Valve Solenoid Valve in Parts Book) on my
4106 is leaking air. Discovered it while searching for air leaks for
another challenge. It leaks at the seam where the two cylinder pieces
meet. One cylinder is called Coil. I twisted them in one direction
then the other in hopes of tightening, but the leak remains.

The questions are: Has anyone experienced that situation? Can the
leak be stopped by some other simple tightening or means? Do you
think rebuild kits are readily available?

You have to remove the top metal cover and the coil. The tube inside the coil is screwed into the valve body. You need a pin wrench to tighten it (or beat on it with a hammer and punch). There is a fibre ring in the joint which may have to be replaced.

Got it fixed... took it apart and put a 25cent "O" ring in it. Works fine with no leaks. Thanks for your help...Vern
