My friend RayHound in an MCI 5 with Allison automatic transmission 644 called me on his cell phone. He is broken down along Highway I-8 east of Yuma. SouthEast Corner of Exit 12 Fortuna Road... He said he was pulling away from stop sign and he heard a kkerrrSNAP. Thinks it is drive line related. Anyway, he can not move. He is half of the road so he feels he is safe. He called Good Sam to get towed and they have no problem with that, but they need a place to tow his bus. RayHound asks that if anybody knows a good bus mechanic or bus repair shop where he can tow his coach to please call him on his cell phone. Number is 707 367-0770. If you cannot call him, just email me or post the info and I will relay the info. Vern for Rayhound |

I am headed out to Gordon's well tomorrow am, which is just a few miles west of Yuma. If he needs any parts, and they are available in San Diego, I could deliver them. My cell is 619-244-8993 home tonight 619-749-6127 |

Robert Binkley at 888-277-4777 has a mobile repair truck. He came to my house from Beaumont, CA and fixed my bus. He can fix almost anything. Charges $80/hr. He is equiped with welding, diagnostics, crane, power tools etc. I recommend him highly. Very profesional. |

RayHound posted this Update to his situation on the GM and MCI BusNut Boards: I guess the angels are looking out for me. Within a few minutes a GM BusNut (Angel Dennis) offered me a place to be towed to about a mile from his place, then showed up where I was broke down to see if he could help. The tow truck showed up, hooked up, then pulled both axles, and towed me to Dennis's location. Fantastic is about all I can say, and thanks to all of you. The tow truck did what I think was a superb job and he really seemed to know what he was doing (another angel) and after pulling both axles said he thinks my rear end is out. Step one on my problem is now taken care of (out of traffic and a place to park), now to get all this figured out. God Sam says they will tow me to the nearest “qualified” place to repair it, but the gals thinking is if they work on diesel engines they are “qualified” because all diesel engines are the same “why are buses any different than a truck” was her statement. OK, thanks again and on to step two. As I have told Vern more that ounce, Welcome to the world of Bus Nuts. |
