IMO Yes, it is the way to go. In my 01 with a 60 series I use a 31" 12 blade fan powered by a 28 GPM hydro motor. After several false starts ended up with a belt driven 28 GPM pump, 10 Gal resevor, air to oil cooler with a 12 Volt fan, and filter. Pump needs 3 belts. Have used tis now for 4 years and it works well. I use no regulator f any kind. As the engine rpm goes up the fan runs faster. Jim |

Can you provide any part numbers or brands for the fan motor? The factory Eagle fan seems to be about 28 inches what did you get the 31 inch fan off of? Donn |

Sorry -- I am traveling for the winter and that info is home. I bought the fan and motor combo new from a supplier in New york but can;t remember the name. I orginally talked to them about electricfans but soon saw that was not good. Jim |

Southern Oregon Diesel has a source for some excellent fan blades. Different pitches, number of blades and diameter. Richard |
