Has anyone found an LED solution to use on the inside of the Coach that, fits in the space between the headliner and outer skin, is bright enough to replace those hockey puck sized, heat-producing halogens, for general lighting.

Backup truck lights might work but $70 a copy is...ouch.

A while back, I bought a whole bunch of these small oval rv lights, built a few LED circuits and installed them into the plastic lights. It worked great... until I took a hard look how cheaply the plastic lights were made and decided what I really need is the hockey puck lights so I can gut them and install LEDs in them... but that's pretty pricey, and I haven't solved it yet! But, if you have the time, save yourself some money and learn how to solder up LED light circuits and make your own... The only problem is, you have to find something to install the LEDs into!

I too have been looking for LED's, I just recently ran across some of the hocky puck type at Menards.
There are 5 or 6 leds per light, and they sold them in packs of 3 pucks for about $10.00.
the only drawback was that they came with a transformer to 120V. I bought a set to play with, I am going to try and remove the transformer and run them direct from 12V.
At that price its worth it to play around with them.

I saw the ones that were at Menards also. The nice thing is that they come in a number of different colors. I remember seeing amber, red, and white and maybe even a blue if I am not mistaken.

Boaters world has a few LED types that are already in the fixture.
The price is about the norm but you don't have to try to match up resistors and leds and the such.

The third page shows a long type led arrangement. I used them in the RV for floor lighting and have considered using them to shine off the ceiling.

The first page shows some in round and oval enclosures.

If you ever traveled on the Walt Disney World Monorail system (They ARE still running aren't they?) you notice that the entire passenger lighting is LED. Basically a strip of LEDs under a plastic lens and the LED face the ceiling at a 45 degree angle.

Though the lighting in the monorail is a bit dim, the strip light I mentioned above is brighter than that.

Hope this is helpful

When finished, we will have a 100% LED lit coach, from the steplights at the entry to the downlights in living area and undercounter lights in kitchen and mood and directional led's at the floor.

Bath and bedroom will also be led lit. It's really not that hard, as others have pointed out. We are still working on the dash and instrument lighting, but for the most part, direct replacement bulbs are available. In particular a variety of direct replacements for MR16 halogens have made this possible.

In fact, with so many vendors offering LED substitutes I doubt if there will be a general use incandescent bulb available in a few years. We feel that this is good use of our on-board resources. In fact the energy savings possible may just help save this planet.
