Hey Kids, the dipstick on my 671 DD says Low, (yes it talks to me - you jelous?) ANYWAY, how much should I add to bring it back the full mark?

also, what type of anti freeze should I use in it, no idea what has been in it, live in daytona beach but moving to Long Beach this weekend. (if she starts again)

thanks

Check it in the morning, when it's cold, if it's at the "Add" mark, you need a gallon. If you have to check it after it's been running, give it a minimum of 20 minutes to drain back down.

Remember - straight 40wt, CF-2, 1% or less ash content oil for the engine!!

NO MULTI-WEIGHT!!!

As for anti-freeze, are you going to fully flush the system first?

Todd, you should drain the cooling system & refill with distilled water & antifreeze. Distilled water will not have minerals that will clog the system, nor acidity that can damage the components. Carry a gallon or two of distilled water with you to top up with. (I keep mine in the battery compartment since there's space and I used to fill my batteries with it before I went to gell cells.) If the cooling system is right, you won't use much. I rarely add any, may have used a gallon in a year.

go to your local DD dealer to get the right anti freeze ofor they motor it will have the addatives that stop pitting and rust do not use the cheap stuff from wal-mart. the little bit that you save is not worth the price that you will pay to have the rad, fixed or replaceing the engine because it pitted out, the price of a case of beer that you think you are saving is not there.
