I looked at a 671 detroit that is for sale at an auction but how do I tell if it is right or left hand rotating. Numbers are 6A412794 1067-8000 spec 2062053 |

Several engines are for sale that were once used at a technical school, torn down and rebuilt many times. engines ran after assembly. they are selling a 671, a 6v92, and an 8v92 along with an international and a huge cummins. they were re-manufactured engines from detroit when they started their life at the school |

9 chances out of 10 it is right hand as trade schools tend to teach what is most called for, having said that take a look at the spec. plate on the starter and if it has CCW at the rotation des. place it is a left hand turning engine if started with that starter. |

671 rotation can fairly easily be changed to the direction you want. Blower location is a bit more difficult. Best if you can find an engine with the blower on the left side as you face the flywheel. This is of course if you are looking for a v drive left hand bus engine |
