We're going to need to leave our bus somewhere in late January and then return for it the 1st week in March. We'll be in and around Havasu/Quartzsite in January. We're coming back to San Diego for a conference Mar. 2-5.

Any reccomendations about a convenient place to store a bus and toad for a month? Any busnuts with a yard? I'd be happy to pay for storage since I am going to pay regardless of where we leave it.

Au contraire, mon capitan!

I'm checking with someone in El Cajon even as we type!

Bob, if El Cajon, "inland" from San Diego is objectionable or inconvenient, let me know!

Actually there are several storage lots in and around San Diego but, never having used any of them, it is hard for me to pick one from 2000 miles away. And I really don't want to wander around seedy neighbourhoods looking for one when we get there - which would be the reason for the request for advice.

And I've been to Quartzsite plenty of times but I don't recall any places that store RV's.

Presently our default is a storage lot in Las Vegas, just because we kind of know our way around there and feel comfortable organizing that from a distance. But it can't hurt to see what other options are out there - and something around San Diego could certainly be more convenient.

Marc - that would work fine. The conference we are going to is up at Rancho Bernardo which is maybe 15 miles north of El Cajon.

I am in Lakeside, north of El Cajon and have the space, but would have to make some improvements to get an extra parking spot that wouldn't be in the way for that length of time. Eventually I plan on doing them, just maybe not in time. Part of the improvements would be putting up a fence to make it more secure. Its on a hillside and generally no one even gets up to the area, but a fence would be better. Its also quite tight in terms of navigation. If you have no other options and want to look at my situation, I am willing to help. No charge for the storage in any case, if it works.

Another option might be a fenced storage yard in downtown Lakeside where I took pictures of those buses last month. There is plenty more space in the yard. I do not know what they charge, but maybe I can find out for you. Quick jaunt to Rancho Bernado up rte 67 to Poway road, then Espola rd.
