When i was driving my bus home at times i thought i was going to have to stand on the gas pedal, i was thinking about installing a new air throttle and maybe even a new Bennett Shift Control has anyone had any problems with either of these, lets hear the yea's and nay's....thanks!

nay: i too have the same combbination (Air throttle and Bennett Shift Control). why would you replace both? a rebuild kit is available for the shifter, i keep one in stock. i have had a problem with the throttle sticking; needed grease. i think there is an air pressure regulator in the throttle curcit. some one will tell us more but i would check pressure to the peddle first and then at the actuator with peddle applied.

ive got the wiliams air foot pedal and the air slave.. both on an old 5105 gm with a 671 dd... it does not need a regulator.... however there are different slave cylinders.. these seem to be pressure sensitive.. mine is full throttle at 100psi...i don't have a williams catalogue... but if memory serves me, there were several different slave cylinders to choose from... i bought the entire system from ronthebusbnut.com good people, good price... i also added a spring off of a household screen door, to help the throttle return to curb idle....seems to work better in my application...

Williams also uses different springs in the foot valve to determine max pressure required. You need higher pressure if you have a mechanical modulator on an auto transmission. If you order a new one you have to specify engine type and if it has an automatic, then specify whether air or mechanical modulator. If it won't shift the automatic when you install it then it has the wrong spring in the foot valve. BTDT

Have both on my 06, have had trouble with the shifter, gets dirty inside and ive had to take it aprt and clean it up several times, but i like the thing real well, only a hr job , had to rebuild the air throttle part under the pedal in the front , leaked air , these were both used parts so its hard to say how long they were used before i got em. go for it( in fairness i dont see much difference from what i had and the air throttle, my regular set up worked easy and well, the air throttle was a throw in when i had the 730 put in
