Too bad I'd have trouble clearing bridges and powerlines or I'd repower the Gillig. Probably would have to drain a few truck stops of their fuel to fill'er up too. Gillig-Dan |

__. What I wanna know is how do you move that engine from the factory to the place where it's installed (which I assume would be a shipyard)??? What a monster! ' |

It is brought to the new ship one piece at a time and assembled in the new engine room as the ship is being built. |

Next? Do I couple this to a B500 or a 4060? And which 3rd member ratio should I use? |

I was getting ready to order one for the 4106, but then I noticed it only turned 102 RPM. I need more speed than that. tg |

Well, tg... if you noticed the RPM, you should have noticed the HP and torque ratings along with it... at 102RPM, that thing produces more power than all our buses put together! -Kevin |

tony, It's simple, you just turn the tranny backwards and make it into a super overdrive! BTW renumber the shifter console from 1-6 to 6-1! |

There was a program on Discovery showing the construction of a super size container ship in Denmark. They didn't give any specs on the engine but it was assembled in the ship. First piece put in was the crankcase with the crankshaft installed and they then built up the engine from that, piece by piece. Total time to build - seven days. |

I bet you would need one heck of a big roll of toilet paper to filter the oil for it I wonder how much lube oil it needs and when they change it if they burn it? |

14-cyl version at full power uses cyl lubeoil 90 kg/h (200 lb/h) so you never change it just add more. for more http://www.wartsila.com under Ship Power |
