Hi folks, For those of you who attended my seminar, Surf Safe, at Bussin' 2005! and whom I promised to print off a bunch more copies of the handout for those who didn't receive one (I was only expecting about 20 people, so I printed up 25 to be on the safe side... but about 40 people showed up!!!) the handout can be downloaded... ~~~ HERE ~~~ It's a PDF file that can be opened with Adobe Acrobat Reader. The Reader can be downloaded from our BNO Home Page. I apologize that I was unable to provide additional copies at the event, but when Maisie ran to the printer to make more copies, she found the print shop closed. Thank you to all who attended the seminar. I was blown away by the number of you who came to see the presentation. It was truly one of the greatest pleasures of my life to have met so many of you and to finally put faces to some very familiar names and also to see old friends, too. Maisie & I still can't wipe the smiles off our faces from the great time we had and all the great conversions we saw. What a talented group of individuals we have in our little hobby! How wonderful to have met you all and to stop and chat with you!! To those of you who caught the seminar but didn't get a copy of the handout, I hope this file is satisfactory for you. If you know of someone who was at the seminar but doesn't have a computer to access this file, I would be grateful if someone could either print off a copy for those who can't or let me know who they are so I can send a copy to them. I'm still working on getting the pictures online. I'm about half done. I promise to finish tomorrow and post them. I'll let you know in a new thread when they're online. Thanks folks!! IAN The download is of interest to everyone on this board, which brings me to think..... What a grand way to share what was talked about at the seminars. That is if they typed them out on disc. Would it be possible to bring it to the board after the meetings. This is assuming that a typed copy on disk could be forwarded to you or someone to be distributed. For those of us who cannot be there, we would still be able to share in some of the seminars as well. Well, its a thought.... cd |

I think I have a copy of the handout that Jim Shepard gave everyone during the fire safety/alarm system seminar. I will check with him and if it is OK, I will send it to I@n. Jack |

Hi folks, A quick caution: Having a copy of a PowerPoint or other type of handout is only part of what you need to have a comprehensive understanding of a seminar that has already been delivered. Buswarrior makes a point when he suggests that, to be totally effective, there should be a video camera rolling to capture the message as it was intended to be delivered by the speaker. I'm happy to publish anything anyone sends me (with their permission to publish it) and when Jack sends the Shepard seminar to me, I'll ask Jim if he'd like to create a whole article about his seminar topic which was about Fire Safety & Alarm Systems. Including the handout in an article would go a long way towards a comprehensive work. Thanks to all who took the time to put together some great seminars for Bussin' 2005. I'm already looking forward to Bussin' 2006!! Ian www.busnut.com |

Well IAN Take it as ME having a thought off of the top of my head. And though it may be a good idea from the my viewpoint, I can now see where it could be a terrible burden to you. Sorry if I brought something that may just prove to be a most difficult thing to achieve. I have these spurts of "Great Ideas" with the bus too, only a few actually work out and go into the plan or acutally be built. This is probably one of the ones that sees the cutting table. lol Thanks for the great board and actually thinking about what I had suggested. I'll go back into my corner now. cd |

Hi Cory, Ooops! Did I mislead you to believe I thought this was not a good idea. I apologize. I've been acting crazy lately. I was probably a bit tired at the time and being Canadian doesn't help, either, ehh? The air is -real thin- up here in the Queen's land. Let's just excuse it and move on, as some would say. Cory, I'm happy to reproduce any seminar documentation on the bulletin board if it's supplied to me by the speaker. That's the stuff truly worth keeping and judging by the great response to the seminars by those in attendance, it's an idea that I will pursue on a more comprehensive scale next year. My only point to your good suggestion was that it would be better to have the seminar documentation AND the seminar as it was delivered, together in one place. That's where Buswarrior was going with the mention of Video Roadie Productions, the brainchild of Bob Sheaves and a cooperative venture of BNO and a group of other active individuals, a project currently on hold. I'll try to do something for next year. Thanks, Cory. Ian www.busnut.com |

Ian You are, as usual, extremely cordial as well as a fantastic Board boss. I did not mis-understand your comments. I DID rethink what I had actually said and realized the incredible burden I was asking you to put on top of your already incredible and successful board. It is easy for me to type out ideas, simply because, I don't have to do the work that comes with it. I, of course, am always available to you if you would need a hand. However, I felt, after I had opened my big mouth, that I had asked you to add more work to your already burdened day. I appreciated you entertaining such an idea and possibly starting another first, here, at BNO Thanks for the response cd |
