I have a 1976 4108 GMC. I have a leaking air bag in the front axle pass. side., rear one of the two. I noticed that the other three are larger. I am guessing 11 in. The one that needs to be replaced is smaller, say 9 in. The one I got from Mohawk was also smaller and was what they recommended for the front. I think the larger ones are intended for the rear axle. Should I replace the three in the front with smaller ones? Or, should I just go with the larger ones all the way around? Or should I just mix them up and not worry about it? Thanks and have a great day. |

Since u apparently don't have a parts manual on your bus, I would suggest you make a rtn. call to Mohawk and find out what is indicated by them for the front axle, then go with that. Mohawk seems to have a fairly accurate catalog of parts that they sell and the appropriate application for the parts. I would not think that 1 different one would be correct. More appropriate would be matched side to side, even though the rearmost set my be smaller, I would think they would be matched across the bus. My Neoplan uses 3 different size air springs, however, they are matched pairs side to side. The air springs can have a significant effect on handling, so u may want to put forth the effort and money to get it correct. A call to Luke B. would also probably get u a correct response and the correct parts. |

Hi Geobus: Jim is right, a mismatch is not correct, especially with a 4108 which, as built, is already not happy with cross winds. You need all of the suspension stability that you can get. You can call me tomorrow toll free at: 1-888-262-2434 and I would be more than happy to help you. I Hope this HELPS!!! LUKE at US COACH |
