We have an '86 MCI 102a2. The lever under the lower right side of the dash that is the emergency release for the door seems to be very touchy. Have to fiddle with it quite often to keep it from hissing at us. On our last trip the beginning of December (pretty cold) we never did seem to get it to completely quit loosing air. Is this a common problem? Are there some seals that might need to be replaced? Getting to be annoying having to fiddle with the thing every time our big dogs brush it with their tails going down the stairwell. |

I had the SAME problem a few months ago...one of the ladys that was with me flipped it just to see what it did...& when it didn't do anything remarkable...just left it...I worked for HOURS trying to figure why I couldn't build air...suggest you remove the valve & put the lines together without the valve |

TWO DOGS - Not a good suggestion in this instance, as that lever is the control for the front door's air lock mechanism. Soonda - Call Luke 1-888-262-2434 between 9-5 Eastern and explain your problem, he'll get you the right parts shipped out the same day. While waiting, consider building some type of shielding around the valve handle to keep the puppie's tails at bay. HTH, RJ PD4106-2784 Fresno CA |

maybe it's different on a MCI....my Eagle...the emergency door release just dumps air to the door |

Hello Soonda. As RJ suggests, get that valve repaired. It should only dump the air pressure in the door lock system and then stop letting air out. You may be able to mount it higher up under the dash to get it out of harm's way. I would recommend keeping the air lock release, because if/when the regular activating valve in the door opening mechanism falls out of adjustment, or its mount breaks/rusts away, you will be in trouble as you will not be able to unlock the air cylinder and open the door. happy coaching! buswarrior |

Thanks. Gave US Coach a call looking for Luke, he was busy but talked to a very helpful Mike. He can either sell me a kit to rebuild it or sell me the complete unit. Some very helpful guys there. |
